FAQ for trans-interpreters


1. General


What is a trans-interpreter and how do I become one?

A trans-interpreter is not a translator, nor an interpreter but a bit of both. Why? Because you will get in touch with the client on the phone. The client will upload a document he can’t understand along with his questions about it. If you accept the job, Live Document Translation will call you and the client and you’ll get to explain the document to the client, or answer his questions, or provide a translation summary, on the phone.

How does this work?

The client will upload a short document or text, along with some questions regarding the document. He will select a date and time when he wants to be called.

The LDT system will call both client and trans-interpreter at the time the client has selected.

How much do you pay?

We are paying $ 0.45 per minute


2. Account


I’ve lost my login details

If you can’t find your login details, please use this form to have your details sent to you by email.

How do I register?

The registration is a 4 step process:
– Sign-up using this form
– Click the link in the email you’re received to verify your email address
– Complete your profile with your personal details and payment details
– Once you have completed your profile, a member of our staff will call you in order to verify if our system can reach your number. Upon successful call, your account will be activated.

How do I get my money?

We are paying at the beginning of the month for earnings gathered during previous month. At this time we can pay you by Paypal, Moneybookers or Payoneer.

How do I complete my profile?

Please login into your account and complete your profile by clicking the “Change Profile” link in the upper right area of your screen, please see here




3. Misc


I can’t find the answer to my question, what do I do?

I want to do written translation, how can I do that?

If you want to do written translation as well, please send us an email at info@live-document-translation.com and our recruitment team will then guide you.

How do I receive job notifications?

Once your account has been activated, you will receive all job notifications that match your language combination by email. Each email will contain details of the job, the time of call and a link to accept the job. If the time of call fits your schedule, go ahead the accept the job. At the time the client has specified, our system will call you and the client.

We are also working on a mobile app which will allow you to receive job notifications on any mobile device. We will send you an email when the app will be available.

Do I have to be online all the time?

No, you don’t have to be online all the time. As soon as your account has been activated, you will receive all job notifications by email.
